Both John and Elizabeth Sheehan are graduates of the Thomas Institute of Hypnosis, the only post- secondary, state licensed hypnosis school in New Hampshire. They are both certified by the National Guild of Hypnotists, and maintain their high level of training and certification by meeting the Guild’s strict annual continuing education requirements. The National Guild of Hypnotists is the oldest and largest hypnotism organization in the world, and its certification is the most widely recognized credential for the professional practice of the hypnotic arts.
Dr. John Sheehan is a much sought after consulting hypnotist, with clients coming from all areas of New Hampshire and other New England states. He meets his annual recertification requirements through a series of continuing education programs. He successfully completed advanced training through the National Guild of Hypnotist's year-long Clinical Hypnosis Program, and in 2007 was awarded the designation of Certified Clinical Hypnotist. In addition to managing an active and growing practice at the Sheehan & Early Hypnosis Center, Dr. Sheehan serves as vice president of the Guild's New Hampshire Chapter.
His academic background in philosophy and communication, blended with thirty-five years of successful experience in the field of human relations, provide a solid foundation for the professional practice of hypnosis. He has helped hundreds of clients solve problems and achieve goals in their personal and work lives.
Dr. Sheehan currently serves as a Court Appointed Special Advocate, representing children in abuse and neglect cases heard in New Hampshire Courts. The New Hampshire Supreme Court reappointed him to the Complaint Screening Committee of the Lawyer Discipline System for a second three-year term in 2008. He is a Life Member of Mensa where he has served as its Development Officer and a member of the Board of Directors since 2005.
Elizabeth Early Sheehan has developed her hypnosis skills into a thriving professional practice. She was certified in Hypnosis in 1999 through the National Guild of Hypnotists. She earned her annual recertification through self-study and by attending and participating in conference workshops and chapter educational events for the next seven years when she opened a full-time practice with her husband, Dr. John Sheehan. She is currently taking advanced training through the National Guild of Hypnotists' year-long Clinical Hypnosis Program.
In 2005, she was certified as a HypnoCoach blending her coaching skills with Neuro-linguistic tools to help her clients achieve more success than they ever thought possible. Using this method, clients are able to reach their goals easier, faster, and more effectively than using personal coaching alone. It is a perfect solution for clients who, over the course of a few months, want to utilize hypnosis and follow a customized plan to reach and maintain their goals.
Elizabeth is an active volunteer, and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Women’s Business Center. An award-winning professional, she mentors women across New Hampshire who are starting their own business. She has been cited by the U.S. Small Business Association for helping to change the New Hampshire economy one woman-owned business at a time.
